Overview
Millesgården Museum, perched on a lush hillside overlooking the Stockholm archipelago, is a cultural oasis dedicated to the life and work of world-renowned sculptor Carl Milles (1875–1950) and his wife, painter Olga Milles.
The museum’s sprawling sculpture park is a breathtaking blend of art and nature, with terraced gardens, flowing fountains, and stunning views that create an inspiring setting for nearly 100 of Carl Milles' sculptures. Visitors can admire monumental fountain pieces and graceful sculptures that seem to float above the landscape, each a testament to Milles' skill and artistic vision.
Beyond the sculpture garden, Millesgården invites you into the couple’s home, offering a glimpse into their creative world. The Artist’s Home showcases Carl’s large studio, where many of his iconic works came to life, alongside Olga’s more intimate living spaces, including a beautiful breakfast room adorned with Dutch blue tiles. The Pompeii-inspired Gallery and Carl’s personal collection of classical art and antiquities highlight his passion for ancient cultures. You'll also be able to explore Anne’s House, a charming retreat designed by legendary Swedish designers Estrid Ericson and Josef Frank, and enjoy seasonal exhibitions at the museum's Art Gallery.
After soaking in the art and history, the on-site café and museum shop provide the perfect end to a day of cultural discovery at Millesgården.
