Overview
Step into Kunsthalle Praha, a modern art gallery with year-round rotating exhibitions, featuring Czech and international modern and contemporary art.
Traditionally, Kunsthalles feature a series of rotating exhibitions by living artists. Visitors to the Kunsthalle Praha will find three gallery spaces, a design shop, a bistro and the Kunsthalle Art Café with beautiful terrace views, where you can look out at Petřín Hill and Prague Castle.
The Kunsthalle Praha’s mission is to support artistic discovery and bring 20th and 21st century art to brand new eyes.
Installations include Chiharu Shiota’s The Unsettled Soul, about the human condition: life, death and memory and Mark Dion's Cabinet of Electrical Curiosities, with industrial artifacts from the building’s past as the Zenger Transformation Station.
Visitors often explore the Schwestern Watchtower, a space for quiet contemplation and audiovisual detox after visiting the exhibitions.
Located in the historical center of Prague, the gallery was awarded the prestigious Architects' Grand Prix national award in 2022. Tours are available in English, German, and Czech.
Families with kids in tow will enjoy the dedicated children’s art spaces and special programs for little visitors, like the Kidshalle and Art Lab. The Kunsthalle Design Shop sells limited-edition prints from exhibiting artists and books to foster imagination in children and adults alike.
The Kunsthalle Praha’s collection is gradually revealed through temporary thematic installations. This means that every time you visit, there’s always something new to see!
