Overview

The International Center of Photography is renowned as the world's leading photography and visual culture institution and hosts a wide range of educational programs as well as major events including the annual Infinity Awards. This ceremony has been honoring the work of the world’s finest photographers since 1985, and counts David Bailey, Ai Weiwei and Henri Cartier-Bresson among its previous recipients.

Head to the museum’s multi-level galleries for a visual feast of photographic images that span the entire history of the form. It’s here you’ll see some of the best images from ICP Museum’s huge permanent collection, as well as traveling photo exhibitions.

There’s plenty to see here, including early daguerreotypes, tintypes and photo-illustrated wartime magazines such as Lilliput, Regards, Life and Berliner Illustrierte Zeitung. The collection also excels in documentary photography spanning the 20th Century, including significant works by Robert Capa and Henri Cartier-Bresson as well as contemporary photography from the likes of Justine Kurland and Susan Meiselas.

Well organized from start to finish. Seating/rest spots helped older travelers in our group, would recommend budgeting a little buffer after for souvenirs.

Helpful crew and clear instructions. Photo spots were thoughtfully spaced along the route, we left with clearer context on the venue’s history. (Would pair nicely with a light lunch nearby.)
