Overview

The Zoo in Miami is home to more than 2,000 animals and over 750 plants and trees from its native Florida, as well as Africa, Asia, the Amazon, and Australia. Explore five themed zones and come face-to-face with jaguars, lions, elephants, bears, camels, and many more species from across the globe!

This is among the best places to visit in Miami with the family as there’s something for everyone. Along with the animal habitats, there are feedings to watch and zookeeper talks where you can learn about the zoo's conservation efforts and how the animals are cared for. The zoo is proud to be involved in many conservation programs annually across five continents and are accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

Learn all about animals at Florida’s largest zoo (fifth largest in the US!) and explore beautiful, endangered wildlife in their replica natural habitats.

We squeezed it into a packed weekend without stress. Kid-friendly pacing without feeling rushed, would recommend budgeting a little buffer after for souvenirs.

We’d happily do this again. Transitions between rooms or stops felt purposeful, we left with clearer context on the venue’s history. (Weekday visit lined up neatly with transit.)
