Overview

Ready to explore the stars of LA? No, we're not talking about the celebs. Perched high above the City of Angels stands the Griffith Observatory, an iconic landmark and the backdrop for a myriad of film and media moments. Since its opening in 1935, it has become the most-visited public observatoy in the world and you can experience all its wonder without missing a thing.

Take a tour designed by some of the observatory's former employees so you can rest easy knowing you're in the hands of a pro. Your expert guide will lead you on an exciting historical and scientific tour where you'll come across some amazing sights such as a Tesla Coil demonstration, overhead Greek mythology-inspired murals, the Albert Einstein statue, and loads more!

The tour is also a great opportunity to catch some social media moments as the Obervatory's decks has incredible panoramic views of the city, especially the Hollywood Sign. You'll visit the Observatory roof to learn about the famous Zeiss telescope and be one of the millions of people to take a look through its lenses.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about this incredible monument and how its opened up our night sky to people all over the world.

Entry was quicker than websites suggested. Crowds were manageable for the slot we picked, worth blocking a half-day for.

Great value versus buying tickets separately. Plenty of time to explore afterward, even though it was a busy day.

More impressive in person than the photos. Audio / guide quality was stronger than usual, matching what friends told us—but better in person.

Easy to combine with other sights. Seating/rest spots helped older travelers in our group, we’d echo the hype online. (Helpful contrasts with nearby attractions.)
