Overview

It's easy to see why Universeum is one of Sweden’s most popular attractions. There’s stacks of fun to be had inside this huge science museum, with interactive exhibits designed to entertain whether you’re aged two or 92.

Get under the skin of the human race on a journey of discovery into the body, don your lab coat for live experiments in the Chemistry Lab, find out how a space toilet works and discover how long it would take you to cycle to the moon.

Smaller children will love running riot in the Miniverseum, with slides, an ocean research station and an enchanted forest, while teens and grown-ups thrill to the huge aquariums in the Ocean Zone. Wander through the Ocean Tank’s tunnel and gaze upwards as sharks, rays and colorful fish swim overhead, and meet the critters that live off the Swedish coast in the West Coast Aquarium.

There’s a Reptilarium containing some of the most deadly snakes and lizards on earth. Come face to face with the king cobra, common death adder and the powerful venomous jaws of the Gila monster! Follow the bridges 25 meters up to the top of the kapok tree inside the giant Rainforest cube. Up here among the treetops, you’ll experience the heat of the tropical jungles and might even spot red ibis and toco toucans flying overhead.

We’d happily do this again. matching what friends told us—but better in person.

Entry was quicker than websites suggested. We learned more than expected in a short visit, easily one of the highlights of our trip. (Short walk from our hotel made it simple.)

Great value versus buying tickets separately. Photo spots were thoughtfully spaced along the route, we’d echo the hype online. (Afternoon crowds were predictable.)

We squeezed it into a packed weekend without stress. Crowds were manageable for the slot we picked, would recommend budgeting a little buffer after for souvenirs.
