Overview

Step inside a vast, converted shipyard warehouse on the NDSM wharf, where street art and graffiti take centre stage. STRAAT Museum celebrates urban art on a monumental scale, showcasing more than 180 works created by over 170 artists from around the world. Many pieces were painted directly onto massive canvases on-site, giving the space the raw energy of the streets in a museum setting.

Wander through towering murals, bold installations and immersive displays that bring global street culture to life. Each work is accompanied by the artist’s story — what inspired it, how it was made and what it represents. The industrial backdrop of the building keeps the experience grounded and authentic, offering a unique contrast between art and environment.

Whether you’re passionate about graffiti, curious about contemporary art, or just looking for something a little different, STRAAT Museum offers a fresh, expressive take on creativity. Located in one of Amsterdam’s most vibrant neighbourhoods, it’s the perfect way to experience the city’s creative side!

Easy to combine with other sights. Seating/rest spots helped older travelers in our group, we left with clearer context on the venue’s history.
